Businessman Killed by Gunfire While Riding Motorcycle in Tocantins Town

A 31-year-old businessman was killed by a gunshot while riding a motorcycle in Porto Nacional, a municipality in the central region of Tocantins, on Tuesday, October 27.

The victim was identified by the Tocantins Public Security Secretariat (SSP) as Taunay Thiago de Carvalho.

According to the SSP, the shooting occurred near the Fórum da Comarca de Porto Nacional, a key civic and administrative area in the city.

Local media reported that Taunay Thiago worked in the sale of used vehicles in the municipality.

The SSP confirmed that forensic experts arrived at the scene and completed the necessary investigative procedures.

The Núcleo de Medicina Legal (NML) of Porto Nacional collected the body and transported it to their facilities for a necropsy.

The victim’s remains will be released after the necropsy for the family to organize wake and burial services.

As of the latest update, no arrests have been announced and it is not known what motivated the attack.

The g1 news outlet attempted to contact the Tocantins Military Police for comment but had not received a response at the time of publication.
